Sean M. Wilson, M.D.
Born and raised in Indiana, Dr. Sean Wilson is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, total joint replacement surgery, and trauma surgery. He offers his patients the most current and advanced surgical techniques, including reverse total shoulder replacement, arthroscopic procedures, and ACL reconstruction to help them overcome pain, weakness, or instability to get back to the things that give their lives purpose and meaning.
He believes that you can only expect a good outcome if the care and treatment provided is both personal and personalized and that is central to everything he does.
After finishing his undergraduate degree at Princeton University in New Jersey, where he ran Division I cross-country and track, Dr. Wilson earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. He then went on to complete an orthopedic surgery residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, before going to Rothman Orthopaedic Institute and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for extensive fellowship training in sports medicine. While at Rothman, Dr. Wilson worked with the Philadelphia Eagles, the Phillies, and Villanova University.
Dr. Wilson and his wife both grew up in Franklin. After spending ten years away from home for school and training, they both decided it was time to move back with their two young children (and dog). Outside of work and raising their kids, much of his time is spent cooking, hiking, camping, running, and renovating their new home, an old Franklin schoolhouse they grew up admiring, Union Joint Graded School.
Dr. Wilson is available to see patients at our Columbus location.
